What does Engaged Mean? A Simple Tool For Your Missing Answers [part 3 of 3]

The Right Tool

What does engaged mean? You’ve learned why engagement is important [part 1]and also who is a part of an engaged culture [part 2] but what do you do now? As the famous martial artist and philosopher, Bruce Lee once  said,

“Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.”

Here at Novareté, we want to help you apply all you have learned about employee engagement by putting the right tools in your hands and showing you how to use them!

Where’s Your Bat?

As a baseball fan, it would be confusing to see a player step up to the plate without a bat in hand – or even worse, with a hockey stick in hand! Unfortunately, that is often what we do when we learn a new concept without having someone there to show us the ropes. Here at Novareté, we not only want to alert you to something you may be missing out on – engaging and aligning your employees to your company values – we want to point you towards the solution.

Let’s put the baseball bat in your hand, walk you to the plate, and show you how to hit a home run with employee engagement. Let’s look at one of my favorite ways that Novareté’s system helps implement astounding employee engagement using a facet in our software called Contributions.

The Power of Contributions

Contribute:

  1. to give (something, such as money, goods, or time) to help a person, group, cause, or organization
  2. to help to cause something to happen

I love these definitions of contribute from Webster’s Dictionary because they exemplify how employee engagement is built – through contributions. It is through employees giving (time, effort, information) and being engaged that cause something (company chemistry) to happen. A healthy culture is founded upon the contributions of its individuals and that is the foundation that Novareté’s Contributions page is founded on.
